AvaTrade Code 128979: What It Really Does

Every few weeks someone asks me about partner codes. Same question every time: do you get discounted fees or free trading?

Short answer: no. AvaTrade charges zero commission on forex. You pay the spread. The spread is the fee. A partner code doesn't change that.

Code 128979 unlocks the deposit bonus. Extra funds in your account based on how much you put in. Nothing more complicated than that.

Bonus amounts?

A $1,000 deposit gets you $200.

$2,000 gets you $400.

Deposits between $5,000 and $9,999 get $1,000.

Maximum bonus is $14,000 for deposits above $100,000. Most people won't hit that.

UK traders funding in pounds start at £160 on £800. Top tier reaches £11,200.

You can open an account with $100. But you need $1,000 to qualify for bonus.

The field is hidden

During registration. After you enter your phone number, look for small text that says "Have a Partner Code?" with an arrow next to it. Click it. A text box appears. Type **128979**.

People overlook it constantly because it's hidden.

If the system rejects it, don't panic. Finish signing up. Message your account manager before you deposit. Ask them to add code 128979. They do this manually all the time.

You can't withdraw the bonus straight away

You need to trade a certain volume.

About 10,000 units for every dollar of bonus. You'd need to trade 2,000,000 units to unlock a $200 bonus. Takes a while if you trade small. Regular trading gets you there sooner than you'd expect.

Your own money stays yours. Access it get more info whenever you need. The bonus stays locked until you hit the volume.

Something useful to understand: while the bonus is locked, it still counts toward your margin. Allows for slightly larger trades. For someone still learning, that buffer can keep you in the game long enough to figure things out.
